The Dodgers have placed right-handed pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the injured list with right elbow tendinitis.
The move was announced minutes prior to the first pitch of Friday’s game between the Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals from Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
It’s highly unusual for the Dodgers to make a corresponding roster move for that night’s starting pitcher so soon before game time. However, manager Dave Roberts said in an interview with MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM Friday morning that multiple players were dealing with health issues, alluding to a forthcoming IL placement.
It’s the second IL stint this year for Glasnow, 30, who’s 9-6 with a 3.
