Prior to Tuesday’s series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays the Dodgers officially activated Kiké Hernandez and Chris Taylor while also recalling Dylan Floro from Oklahoma City. To make room for those three, the Dodgers placed Kristopher Negrón on the IL and optioned Kyle Garlick and Casey Sadler to AAA Oklahoma City.
The IL move makes a ton of sense for Kristopher Negrón. Not only did he face plant into the outfield in Miami while attempting to make a catch, but he also has no options left. The Dodgers would’ve had to send Negrón through waivers and after a brief but impressive stint so far, another team in need of depth might have plucked Negrón off waivers.
