The Dodgers on Monday placed Justin Turner on the disabled list with a right groin strain. Taking his place on the roster is outfielder Alex Verdugo, who was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Turner has been dealing with the same adductor issue since before the All-Star break. The team was hoping that the rest over the last few days and only one start since July 11 would help the recovery process. But after two at-bats Sunday, the 33-year-old was pulled after the second inning.
“I’m not happy,” Turner told media in Milwaukee.
