LOS ANGELES >> The Dodgers placed right-hander Brandon McCarthy on the 10-day disabled list Monday with a recurring issue in his right knee. They can only hope McCarthy’s other issues disappear in that time as well.
The 33-year-old right-hander was pulled after only three innings Sunday during which he walked two and threw three wild pitches. It was painfully reminiscent of McCarthy’s struggles with erratic command last season after he returned from Tommy John surgery. McCarthy later referred to suffering from the “yips.”
After Sunday’s game, McCarthy characterized his problems against the Colorado Rockies as “a very hard-to-describe feeling.
