The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated veteran outfielder Jason Heyward from the injured list and optioned outfielder James Outman. The team announced on Sunday before their third and final matchup against the Boston Red Sox.
Heyward missed the last 11 games after suffering a bone bruise in his left knee during a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 4. In the meantime, Heyward had been recovering from his injury, running and doing outfield drills to soon return. That day came on Sunday, and Outman will return to the minor leagues again.
The Dodgers recalled Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 5.
