With Trea Turner off to Philadelphia, the Dodgers will officially have a new starting shortstop for the third straight year in 2023. The best shortstop available on the free-agent market, unfortunately, is also the one with the most baggage: Carlos Correa.
Correa, of course, was a key member of the Houston Astros team that cheated to win the 2017 World Series over the Dodgers. L.A. fans haven’t forgotten, especially because Correa was one of the most defiantly belligerent members of the cheating squad.
But the Dodgers need a shortstop, and Correa is very good.
