The Los Angeles Dodgers officially announced their active roster for Opening Day of the 2017 regular season, which given the decisions that trickled out in recent days, didn’t come with any surprises. As expected, the Dodgers are beginning the year with 13 position players and 12 pitchers.
Their starting rotation, in order, is comprised of Clayton Kershaw, Kenta Maeda, Rich Hill, Brandon McCarthy and Hyun-Jin Ryu. Last season, Hill pitched back of Kershaw. McCarthy and Ryu outperformed and outlasted Scott Kazmir, Brock Stewart and Alex Wood, among others, to earn the available spots in the rotation.
Though, one of them may be somewhat of place holder, as Julio Urias’ arrival looms.
