The 2023 MLB All-Star Game has come and gone, and while there are still a few days until the Dodgers take the field again this Friday, but there’s still plenty of headlines about LA as we’re truly in the All-Star break now.
Five Dodgers — Clayton Kershaw, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and J.D. Martinez — were selected to the All-Star Game with the latter four participating. The highlight as far as LA is concerned was Martinez, who went 2-for-2 on his night and made some history along the way.
In other news, Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani gave a shoutout to Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts — ahead of him reaching free agency this offseason — and trade rumors are swirling around former Los Angeles CF and current Chicago Cub Cody Bellinger amidst his resurgent season.
