The Los Angeles Dodgers decided their A-plus offseason needed another move, so on Tuesday, they made yet another reported addition, signing All-Star right-handed reliever Kirby Yates.
Yates, 37, had a 1.17 ERA with the Texas Rangers last season, the lowest of his 10-year career.
Yates made the All-Star team for the second time in his career last season. His first All-Star appearance came in 2019 with the San Diego Padres, when he had a 1.19 ERA.
The Yates signing seemed to come out of nowhere, but it made a little more sense after reports came out about right-handed reliever Michael Kopech’s injury.
