The Dodgers made a move on Saturday, but it probably wasn’t the move that Dodgers fans wanted. Fans hoping for a splashy Juan Soto or Shohei Ohtani trade probably weren’t holding their breath for the Dodgers to trade for another bullpen reclamation project, but luckily, team president Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes don’t crowd source their trade decisions with fans. LA acquired veteran right-handed reliever Chris Martin from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for utility man Zach McKinstry.
After the trade was announced, McKinstry took to Instagram to thank Andrew Friedman, Brandon Gomes, manager Dave Roberts, and the entire organization for giving him a chance play for one of the premier teams in all of baseball.
