The Dodgers have been hurting since losing Zach McKinstry in the lineup. The utility man is nursing a right oblique strain suffered during last Thursday’s batting practice.
McKinstry described the injury during Monday’s pregame press conference.
“Took a swing during BP and felt it. Took a few more swings and kept feeling the same things.”
McKinstry said he went to the weight room for advice and was promptly directed to the training staff where the injury was diagnosed.
Prior to his injury, McKinstry slashed .296/.328/.556 in 17 games.
