Dodgers News: Will Smith Is Trying to Not Pay Attention to the All-Star Vote

Dodgers catcher Will Smith is as close to an All-Star Game as he’s ever been.

Smith, who’s in his fifth year in the league, has been one of the premier catchers in baseball since he burst onto the scene in 2019.

Since 2020, his first full season, he leads all qualifying National League catchers in home runs, runs batted in, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, walks, OPS, WRC+ and WOBA.

However, despite his immense amount of success, he has no All-Star games to show for it.

This year, Smith made it past Phase 1 of voting, and is up against Braves catcher Sean Murphy for the starting spot in the National League.
