The Dodgers have officially activated catcher Will Smith off the seven-day concussion injured list. To make room on the active roster, the team placed designated hitter J.D. Martinez on the 10-day IL with lower back tightness retroactive to April 25th.
This came as part of a greater series of moves ahead of Friday’s game and the start of the homestand in LA.
Smith has been out for over two weeks now. He took three foul balls off the mask in San Francisco and wasn’t feeling well for a few days. The Dodgers ultimately ended up placing him on the seven-day IL, and signed Austin Wynns as catching depth.
