Dodgers News: Walker Buehler Optioned To High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

Minutes before first pitch on Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers optioned Walker Buehler to High-A Rancho Cucamonga. The club did not announce a corresponding roster move, leaving them with 24 players on their active roster for the series opener against the Colorado Rockies.

This marks a second time this season Buehler is joining the Quakes, though in the first instance it was more of a paper move between making starts for the Dodgers. He’s fresh off a stint on the 10-day disabled list that was required due to a right rib microfracture.

Buehler was initially scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City but he instead was activated and pitched in relief of Clayton Kershaw in the four-game finale against the Chicago Cubs.
