The Dodgers were all set and ready to ride into the All-Star Game with 4 different players making the National League squad. Mookie Betts and Trea Turner will start at their positions, while Tony Gonsolin and Clayton Kershaw were both picked as starting pitchers.
But there was a late addition for them this year. MLB announced today that Tyler Anderson would be one of the alternates for the All-Star Game this week. The Dodgers pitcher makes it into the game and becomes their fifth player to do so.
Alternates are chosen due to a number of reasons.
