The Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday recalled Trayce Thompson from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed Franklin Gutierrez on the 10-day disabled list with a left-hamstring strain. Gutierrez’s DL stint is retroactive to Tuesday. He’s eligible to be reinstated Saturday, April 22.
Gutierrez suffered the injury when he was caught stealing during the second inning of the Dodgers’ loss to the Chicago Cubs. There wasn’t an immediate sign of discomfort, though ESPN cameras caught Gutierrez stretching in the dugout and pointing to his hamstring area before retiring to the clubhouse.
Gutierrez becomes the eighth player the Dodgers have put on the disabled list this season.
