The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred Tony Gonsolin to the 60-day injured list in order to make the signing of Albert Pujols official and add him to the club’s 40-man roster. A secondary move is still required for Pujols to be placed on the active roster.
Gonsolin remains on the mend from right shoulder inflammation that forced him to the IL during the first week of the season. Being transferred to the 60-day is not indicative of any sort of setback for Gonsolin.
All it cements is he cannot be activated until May 31, which was likely around the date for a return anyhow.
