Ahead of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Washington Nationals, the Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-hander reliever Tony Cingrani off of the 10-day disabled list and optioned fellow southpaw Adam Liberatore to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Cingrani missed the last couple of weeks with left shoulder inflammation after going through a period that he described as ‘dead arm.’ He last appeared in the Dodgers recent series against the Arizona Diamondbacks, tossing a scoreless inning.
In 18 games so far this seasons, he’s 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA, 2.94 FIP and 1.29 WHIP. Cingrani has 22 strikeouts compared to just four walks in 14 innings pitched.
