The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Tommy Lasorda underwent surgery on Thursday to replace his pacemaker yesterday. “He’s doing well and looking forward to returning to Dodger Stadium,” their statement read.
Lasorda was recently hospitalized for undisclosed medical reasons. At the time of confirming Lasorda’s hospital stay, the Dodgers said he was “resting comfortably.” The former manager was hospitalized twice last year.
Last August, Lasorda went to the hospital after falling at a memorabilia show in Atlantic City. He required 12 stitches. Then in October, Lasorda was hospitalized for 10 days due to shoulder and back issues, and missed the Dodgers home games during the 2016 National League Division Series.
