The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Sergio Romo from the 10-day disabled list and optioned Josh Fields to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Monday’s series opener against the New York Mets.
Romo returns one day after he was eligible to come off the DL. He’d been sidelined due to a sprained left ankle that was considered a minor injury. Romo made rehab appearances with High-A Rancho Cucamonga on June 14 and 16.
He allowed a combined one run on three hits, and had two strikeouts in three innings. Romo’s first rehab game was a perfect inning with two strikeouts.
