Dodgers RHP Ryan Pepiot is going to open the season on the injured list with an oblique injury, the team announced on Thursday. Pepiot, who was slated to start the season as the No. 5 starter in the rotation, will unfortunately not be getting that opportunity now. Instead, he’s heading to the injured list, and RHP Michael Grove is taking his spot on the roster.
This is such tough news for Pepiot, who was looking forward to getting this opportunity on the Opening Day roster. But hopefully this injury doesn’t keep him out for too long, and he’s still able to make a start or two before Tony Gonsolin returns from injury.
