Dodgers News: Roberts Hopes Miguel Vargas Avoided Injury Following Hit by Pitch

We got the feeling of oh no here we go again in the 7th inning of last night’s win when Miguel Vargas got hit in the right hand by a Connor Seabold fastball. That’s the same hand that had the fractured pinkie finger early in spring training. With Vargas staying in and completing the game on Monday night, the hope is he dodged a bullet.

Dave Roberts provided a measured but positive update to reporters after the game.

“His thumb is fine. We’ll get it looked at. He said it was sore but full range of motion, there’s strength.
