Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler is joining another team for the first time in his career. As a free agent this winter, Buehler signed a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Boston Red Sox.
Of course, his departure from the Dodgers is painful for fans as he was named a World Series hero less than two months ago. But it was his postseason heroics that proved to teams around the league he was the pitcher to put on the mound when the lights are brightest.
The Dodgers chose not to extend Buehler a qualifying offer at the start of the offseason, which would’ve amounted to the contract he just signed with Boston.
