Dodgers News: Mookie Betts to Play ‘About 40 Games’ at Second Base, Per Dave Roberts

The rumors have been swirling about Mookie Betts potentially playing at second base this season. Betts is a six-time Gold Glove Award winner in right field, but has made it clear that he loves playing in the infield.

While we didn’t know exactly what that plan would look like this season, earlier this week, Dave Roberts confirmed the details to Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci — and it’s even more second base than we thought.

“It’s real,” Roberts said about Betts playing second base. “The way I envision it, Mookie starts about 40 games at second base and 110 in the outfield.
