The Los Angeles Dodgers weren’t quite done at the trade deadline with a last-second move that trickled in after the 3 PM deadline.
The Dodgers sent No. 14 prospect Eddys Leonard to the Detroit Tigers for cash considerations, according to Dodgers Nation’s Noah Camras.
The deal was the final trade the team made before the MLB trade deadline hit on Tuesday at 3 PM.
The Dodgers minor league shortstop played 92 games for the team’s Double-A affiliate Tulsa Drillers, slashing .254/.327/.411 this season with 11 home runs and 44 RBI. However, he didn’t have a consistent position defensively and would have been blocked by Amed Rosario, Miguel Rojas, and Kiké Hernandez at the MLB level, making him expendable for Los Angeles.
