Who said trades can’t still happen after the deadline? On Friday, the Dodgers sent veteran outfielder Kole Calhoun to the Cleveland Guardians. Calhoun had been playing at Triple-A Oklahoma City for the last few months after signing a minor league deal with LA back on June 6th after being released by the Yankees.
Now he heads to Cleveland where he should get a shot at big league playing time once again. Guardians beat writer Mandy Bell reported the news.
The Dodgers are receiving cash considerations in return, as reported by Ryan Lewis. As for how the deal came about after the deadline, teams can still move minor league players off the 40 man roster.
