The Dodgers have officially announced who is going to start their first Cactus League game on Saturday, and 26-year-old right-hander Michael Grove is getting the ball. Dave Roberts made the announcement at spring training on Wednesday.
Grove made his major league debut last season, and went up-and-down a few times throughout the year. Overall, Grove made seven appearances (six starts), and went 1-0 with a 4.60 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 29.1 innings.
He told our very own Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation how excited he is to get the first start of the new year.
