The only things that have been able to cool down Max Muncy this season were off the field.
First, it was the birth of his child that put him on the paternity list for three days, much to the delight of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ pitchers. That was coming off a week in which Muncy won the National League Player of the Week Award, and he couldn’t have been more deserving.
Then, Muncy came back, and was playing well again, including hitting a walk-off grand slam against the Phillies. However, his good play has now taken a halt, thanks to an illness.
