Just two days after wrapping up his Atlanta homecoming, Freddie Freeman was back at the top of the news cycle on Tuesday. According to a report from ESPN’s Buster Olney, Freeman is changing agents based on how his free-agent negotiations unfolded this past winter.
Freeman released a statement noting that the weekend in Atlanta was “emotional” and indicated he’s “working through some issues” with Excel Sports Management. Excel represented him during free agency.
Although Freeman said before first pitch on Tuesday that he’s “happy to be a Dodger” and calling for “closure”, the news set off a whirlwind of reactions from insiders, analysts, and Dodgers fans.
