Dodgers News: Kenley Jansen Reaches 1,000 Career Strikeouts

The Los Angeles Dodgers used 10 pitchers in their 16-inning marathon win over the San Diego Padres, and among them was Kenley Jansen, who tossed a scoreless ninth to keep the score tied at 1-1.

It was the right-hander’s second appearance in as many days as Jansen notched his 28th save of the season in Tuesday’s series opener at Petco Park. Jansen was just as effective on the back-to-back, retiring all three batters faced on just 13 pitches.

He began the inning by getting Manny Machado to fly out, then induced a ground ball from Jake Cronenworth.
