It remains to be seen if Major League Baseball and the Players Association can agree on an economic plan in the coming days, but all indications point to there being some form of a 2020 season this summer.
Plenty of details still need to be sorted out, notably the length of schedule. Players have hoped for a healthy number of regular-season games, while owners prefer a significantly reduced amount of contests to better ensure the postseason isn’t jeopardized.
No matter how many games are ultimately played, the top priority will be making sure players remain safe and healthy.
