Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez was scratched from Tuesday’s series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks with injury. Martinez is still feeling the lingering effects of his left groin/hamstring tightness, which is keeping him out of the lineup on Tuesday.
Martinez missed a handful of games last week with the tightness, however, he wasn’t forced to go on the injured list. This is not a great sign, though, as the Dodgers don’t want to see their All-Star designated hitter have to spend more time on the IL this season.
Here’s the team’s updated lineup for Tuesday’s game, with Kiké Hernández joining the lineup and Max Muncy taking over at DH.
