The Dodgers have officially activated All-Star designated hitter J.D. Martinez off the 10-day injured list, and optioned rookie Michael Busch.
This moves comes as no surprise, as the team said Martinez was likely to return when the Dodgers got to Washington D.C. this weekend.
Martinez has been out for a couple weeks as he’s dealt with a weird groin injury that just wasn’t getting better.
The team is hoping that this time off finally let it fully heal, as this is their last real chance to get him healthy before the postseason.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he’s hopeful Martinez is able to remain healthy and return to his All-Star form, but they don’t really know for sure.
