Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez left Sunday’s game early with a hamstring injury. Martinez was struggling to walk in the dugout, and it was immediately a concern that he would have to go on the injured list.
Three days later, Martinez is still yet to be placed on the IL. On Tuesday, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that the team is hoping he avoids the IL, and called him “day-to-day.”
“From what I understand, it’s going to be a few-days situation, not an IL right now but could potentially be,” Roberts said. “Right now, I think it’s safe to say day-to-day.
