Los Angeles Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jamie Jarrín was presented with the 2019 Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual Southern California Sports Broadcasters luncheon. Jarrín is the third-ever recipient of the award.
Vin Scully was first to take it home, followed by Kings announcer Bob Miller last year. While Scully and Miller have both sailed off into the sunset and are enjoying retirement, Jarrín last September signed a multi-year contract extension to take him through the 2020 season.
“I’m still enjoying it just as much as I did 60 years ago. I love what I do, and it’s a privilege for me to be able to do it,” Jarrín said at the time his new contract was announced.
