In the midst of an offensive breakout season, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop prospect Gavin Lux was named California League Player of the Month for July.
At High-A Rancho Cucamonga, he hit .360/.408/.561 with six doubles, four triples, three home runs, 13 RBI and 23 runs scored in 125 plate appearances during the stretch (26 games).
With those efforts, Lux led the Cal League in hits (41), runs and total bases (64). Among other accolades for the 20-year-old include a 16-game hitting streak from July 1-19, to which he tallied multiple hits in 15 of them.
Lux was promoted to Double-A Tulsa at the turn of August, where he has since continued to impress with his bat.
