Dodgers superstar first baseman Freddie Freeman left Team Canada’s 5-0 win over Colombia in the World Baseball Classic early with an apparent hamstring injury.
After the game, Canada’s manager, Ernie Witt, spoke to reporters, and said he doesn’t “foresee” Freeman being in the lineup on Wednesday against Mexico. He also gave a slight update on the injury, saying Freeman felt tightness in his hamstring. The update is via Jorge Castillo of the LA Times.
There are a few things to take away from this. One, clearly this is more serious than just a cramp if it’s expected to keep Freeman out of the lineup tomorrow.
