The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Edwin Rios on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation and recalled Edwin Uceta ahead of Wednesday’s series finale against the Chicago Cubs.
“It’s something going on with his right shoulder that’s really affecting his swing. Eddie is not a guy that’s going to make excuses, but that’s kind of what he’s dealing with,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Rios’ injury.
He heads to the IL mired in an 0-for-32 skid with four walks, 12 strikeouts and one hit by pitch. Rios’ last hit was a one-out single in the fifth inning on April 13.
