The Los Angeles Dodgers saw their two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday in a 16-6 defeat at the hands of the Oakland Athletics. The pitching staff suffered its worst performance of the season, but a silver lining was the club’s continued improvement on the offensive side.
The Dodgers’ bats exploded for six runs and 12 hits against the Athletics in the finale of the two-game Interleague series. Los Angeles also slugged two home runs in the contest, after doing so three times in the opener.
While manager Dave Roberts ultimately believes the Dodgers were soundly beat by the Athletics, he was pleased to see Yasmani Grandal and Matt Kemp fare well at the plate, via Spectrum SportsNet LA:
