Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Says Kiké Hernández Will Play Wednesday Against Blue Jays

Tuesday, the Dodgers reacquired Kiké Hernàndez from the Boston Red Sox for two little-known relievers. For some time, the Dodgers wanted a right-handed-hitting outfielder, and Hernàndez fits this profile plus he can play second base.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Hernàndez will primarily play center field and some second base. Wednesday, he’s expected to start in center field against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Dodgers hope he will help them do better against left-handed pitching, a problem for years.

Hernàndez was a Dodger from 2015 to 2020. He hit a game-tying home run in Game 7 of the 2020 NLCS against the Atlanta Braves.
