Tony Gonsolin injured his ankle on March 6 after a spring training drill. He turned his ankle, and found himself out of the lineup for his scheduled spring training start.
The injury lingered, and it became clear that Gonsolin wasn’t going to be ready for Opening Day, however, manager Dave Roberts didn’t seem too worried about a long recovery.
As time went on, though, it became clear that Gonsolin may not be ready as soon as the team hoped. His target date was set for late-April.
Now, though, Roberts spoke to the media on Monday ahead of the first of three games against the Giants, and shared some bad news.
