Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux exited Game 1 of the National League Championship Series early with a tightened hip flexor. The 26-year-old was absent from the Dodgers’ Game 2 lineup and was replaced by outfielder Andy Pages on Monday. Lux had played in every previous game in the postseason.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said although Lux was not healthy enough to start, he could have been used as a pinch-hitter.
The Dodgers closed in on the Mets late in the game. By the sixth inning, New York was up by just three runs, making using Lux as pinch-hitter tempting.
