The Los Angeles Dodgers put together an impressive showing against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend, but did so without the services of third baseman Justin Turner, who was sidelined for all three games while dealing with continued wrist soreness.
Turner, who missed the first seven weeks of the regular season after fracturing his left wrist in Spring Training, had previously managed to stay on the field for the most part since making his debut on May 15.
The 33-year-old’s hiatus was expected to be brief, as the original plan indicated he would return to the lineup on Sunday for the finale of the three-game series against the Braves.
