Since making landfall last weekend, hurricane Harvey has wreaked havoc on southeast Texas, in particular hitting the city of Houston hard. Families have lost homes to flooding and been displaced as torrential rain continues to fall.
On Wednesday, the tropical storm again reached land, putting citizens in further despair. Several professional athletes and teams have provided aid to the region through charitable donations.
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Scott Kazmir, a Houston native, donated $130,000 that was distributed amongst four separate organizations.
He’s been joined by teammate Curtis Granderson, who pledged $25,000 to the Houston Food Bank and invited others to contribute:
