In addition to placing Alex Wood on the 10-day disabled list, the Los Angeles Dodgers did the same with Cody Bellinger, who’s been saddled by a mild ankle sprain. He becomes the 26th different player the Dodgers put on the disabled list this season.
They set an MLB record last year by sending 28 players to the DL. Bellinger’s stint is retroactive to Sunday, Aug. 20. He was removed after six innings last Saturday and didn’t appear in either of the two ensuing games, though Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said his rookie was available to pinch-hit.
