Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger was named the National League Player of the Week for games played June 19-25. It’s the second time Bellinger has taken home the honor, previously being recognized for May 1-7, which was his first full week with the Dodgers.
Starting in all seven games last week, Bellinger hit .370/.400/1.037 with three doubles, five home runs and 12 RBI. He played first base, left field and right field during that span.
On Sunday, Bellinger became the fastest player to six multi-home run games. He did so in 57 career games, which shattered Mark McGwire’s MLB record of 97 games.
