After a breakout season in 2017, it is no secret that Chris Taylor has struggled at the plate a bit the last two years. That’s been particularly true to start the 2019 season, despite optimism from Taylor and the Los Angeles Dodgers over the winter.
Taylor was able to come up big in Friday night’s come-from-behind win over the San Diego Padres though, hitting a home run off starter Eric Lauer to begin the fifth inning and break up his no-hit bid.
Taylor also had a single later in the game to finish 2-for-4, just his third multi-hit game of the season.
