Dodgers News: Catcher Austin Barnes Exits Thursday’s Game Early After Getting Hit by Pitch

Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes was forced to exit the Dodgers’ 6-0 win over the Reds on Thursday early after getting hit by a pitch on the right hand.

Barnes was looked at by the trainers, and was able to remain in the game to run the bases. However, as the Dodgers came out defensively for the bottom of the ninth inning, Will Smith was coming in to replace Barnes.

Obviously the Dodgers had no reason to keep Barnes in the game with a 6-0 lead, but he was holding his right hand as he exited the dugout and went down to the clubhouse.
