Los Angeles Dodgers starter Alex Wood got off to an 11-0 start in 2017 en route to his first career All-Star appearance, so when he struggled to begin the 2018 season, no one was more disappointed in him than himself.
After a rough three-start stretch at the end of May and beginning of June, Wood admitted that it was the toughest stretch of his career.
He has gotten past that now though, earning wins in four straight starts, including Monday’s performance in a 17-1 route over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium.
After the game, Wood admitted that he is happy to have gotten past that rough stretch and is now looking forward to the future with him and his teammates playing good baseball, as seen on SportsNet LA:
“Winning is just nice,” Wood said with a smile.
