The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Adrian Gonzalez from the 60-day disabled list and optioned Rob Segedin to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Detroit Tigers. Los Angeles went 48-7 while Gonzalez recovered from bulging discs in his back.
The stint on the disabled list was Gonzalez’s second of his career, with both coming this season. He played in 1,833 games over 14 seasons prior to being shelved for the first time in May.
Gonzalez went 18-for-71 (.254) with a .273 on-base percentage, .380 slugging, six doubles, one home run and 12 RBI over 20 games (19 starts) after returning from the DL.
